What are they made of? All our wraps are all handmade using only 100% naturally occurring ingredients and products.
The only other ingredients used for both wraps are Organic Jojoba Oil and Pure Pine Resin.
Pure Beeswax – is a natural wax produced by honey bees and ours is sourced in the UK.
Organic Jojoba Oil – is the liquid produced in the seed of the Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) plant, a shrub, which is native to southern Arizona.
Pure Pine Resin – my supplier informs me this liquid pure form is collected by hand from the pine tree in the traditional way. Pine resin is incredibly sticky and this is what gives the wraps their versatility and tackiness.
100% Cotton organic okeo-tex certified fabric that is deemed food safe.
How to use: select the appropriate sized wrap and use the warmth of your hands to shape and mould it around your food/bowl etc.
Uses: covering fruit, veg, cheese, bread bowls, jars, tins, plates of food, sandwiches or snacks such as dried fruit/nuts etc.
NOT FOR raw meat/fish use.
NOT FOR use in microwave/dishwasher/washing machines.
NOT for those with Pine Allergy
How to care: After use wipe or rinse with a mild soap & water (castile soap is awesome) and blot or leave to dry naturally. These wraps can be used time and time again with careful use. You can also refresh your wraps (except the ones with buttons!) by placing in an oven @ 160c on a clean baking sheet or parchment for 5/10 minutes. This procedure remelts the wax coating and should only be done if you feel it is necessary – maybe the wrap has taken on a slight odour from an onion or smelly cheese etc?
When not in use keep away from heat sources/sunlight – preferably in a cotton drawstring bag.
Please see my other listings for various sizes and packs that are available. Also please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
First few uses the Wraps will feel a lot tackier and may have a slight naturally occurring aroma and this will not affect the food item.
Please do not use if you have an allergy to PINE.
